I just received the DVD of our Reunion which brought back wonderful memories of a special day. SAAAAAm and Dovid did a wonderful job which included some kamp pictures. Thanks to both of them for preserving this. Dave

Dear Robert, Thank you so much! I have saved your message - I really wish I had known him. He sounded like a pretty cool friend! I realize now that he was younger than I thought when he passed away. It's bittersweet to know what a warm, likeable, and happy kid he was, and that he left a lasting... (more)

Dear Johanna, I remember Johnny very well! I was a camper in '47-'53 and a counselor for five years after that, and I found him a very fascinating young boy when he was in his early teens - to the extent that I dropped down to his tent a couple of times to chat with him at rest hour. He was a... (more)

I realize this is a real longshot, but my mother's brother, Johnny Finkelman, was a kamper sometime in '50-'53. I am desperately looking for any memories about him, as my mother and my grandparents never spoke of him. Johnny died very young, I believe around 17 years old from pneumonia. All that... (more)

Want a film of the terrific 2015 reunion? Sam Straus has completed his video of it, and you can order a copy for just $15 to cover expenses - and also get copies of the 2011 and 2006 reunions for the same amount, or $40 for all three of them. You can download his order form and mailing address... (more)

What a fantastic reunion! Hats off to the planning committee and especially Dick Nehru for the Friday evening gathering. We're still talking about it and most folks cannot believe the great magnet Kewanee has lo these many years later. KKW.

Great being with all you young guys at the reunion. You too, Doc, Charles and Victor! And a loud KKW for all the organizers and emcee Dave.

Trivia question. Does anyone know how deep the lake is? And also, what was the depth by the raft? I am guessing about 15 feet.

Wonderful seeing all of you. What good times we had. What wonderful memories. I echo others. Thanks for all the organization, Dave Rutstein, Steve Klein, BS Cohen. And a special thanks to Nehru for hosting Friday night. Ricky Vatz: we missed you. But no tennis at the Ambler. After the reunion, I... (more)

I wonder if there are any other camps (or any other organizations) which closed 42 years ago and are able to maintain the same level of loyalty and devotion. I was overwhelmed by everyone's attendance and responses. What a joy to relive a wonderful time in our collective lives, albeit for a very... (more)

This was the best reunion ever.. The Kampers and Kounselors I knew and those who I didn't know were all great to reminisce with. The organizers did a superb job and set the tone for a weekend filled with "those events that alter and illuminate our times." I felt immersed in 1950's La Plumian... (more)

KK so enriched my life and each reunion adds to the enrichment. Thanks for the friendships and rekindled memories. I was not a great athlete at KK or afterward but somehow I blossomed at KK in several track events and in the backstroke. Several campers commented on my KK track activities, which... (more)

May G-d bless Joel. He did incredible work on behalf of the Hispanic community in the national capital area. Have not seen him in years, but have great memories of him at Kamp and when we last saw each other in DC. Sorry I am unable to attend the reunion, but tomorrow evening we are attending... (more)

Wishing everyone a great time. I am stuck here in LA this weekend. I'm responding to an irresistible urge I've been having to drill a hole in a thin, flat rock using the piecing blade on my pocket knife.
Rest in Peace Joel.

First, so sorry to hear about the passing of Joel Skirble. He was a fine person who always had the interests of the underclass at heart. Second, for those who might read this before the reunion and might be interested in drinks/food at or near the Ambler Inn on Friday night, I expect to arrive... (more)
