Steve,

I watched your video. Wonderful! Were you in my tent? If so, who else was in there?

Sorry Kampers. I left out a scene and I had the dates wrong for the video. I think the first scene is 1957. I also think there are two visitor days...58 & 59...and I added the second airport scene which should be '61. Here is the new link: (more)

I just posted a video on YouTube. It was originally on 16mm film damaged in the 1972 flood in Harrisburg. My dad had it converted to video tape and I converted it to DVD and then to YouTube. The quality sucks, but there is some really neat stuff. The video includes leaving for Kamp from... (more)

There is now a fan page for Kamp Kewanee kampers at: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Kamp-Kewanee/307847562418 on facebook. We set it up to see if we could find any wayward kampers that haven't already connected... (more)

I would be ETERNALLY grateful if anyone could send me the sheet music for "When the Moon Shines." It must exist somewhere? My mother (Elinor Ratner) is having her 90th birthday in April and I am trying to convince someone who can actually sing (which let's me out) to sing it for her. Many... (more)

I just watched Jerry Adler's video of the '01 Reunion for the first time. I haven't been able to make it back for any of the reunions, but would very much like to. A while back there was some discussion of having another. Is anything percolating?

Hey, I had no idea this was going on all these years, came across the website by accident, and was blown away by it. I would have loved to have attended the reunions. I live in NYC, was editorial director of a small publishing company, and have published a novel and a biography. Still play... (more)

Oy, sorry David (and Mike).

Last heard from Alan was in Pittsburgh. He hasn't stayed in touch with anyone as far as I know.

Bruce, My last year at Kewanee was 1972. You will note that Mike Lowenstein, Dan Fishbone, and Nick Hano who were all SAs with me are also absent from that photo.

Where is Alan Green today?

The totem poles were still there in 1960, Peter. Were they removed before Kamp closed?

fOR Robert (BS) Cohen--I think your numbers are about right Bob: My Father was sending THREE sons at the SAME TIME (about $1500.00 as I remember) BIG BUCKS in those days--and he did it for several years. Didn't appreciate it then, of course!!

And does anyone remember how much those $'s were, Norm? In 1947 it was $405 for the entire summer. The $5 was for health insurance, as I recall. Of course our parents also had to pay $2 a night to stay in the guest tents if they wanted to come up....

For David Rutstein: Dave your point about "Kewanee Lives on in many of us" and "memories are near the surface" is so true--it's hard to believe that after all this time it provides such strong memories--of course, I had no idea (at the time) this would be true. My Father (you knew him) would be... (more)
