Kit Woolsey came to the first modern reunion in the 80's. He's written some seminal (Andy, relax...that's not what that means!) works in Backgammon and is one of the best in the world. I don't think he yells KeeKeeWah when he defeats an opponent. I think that's considered bad form in the... (more)

Yes, it is the same Kit Woolsey. In fact, he is a world class bridge player--one of the best in the country. I guess all of those bridge games at Rest Hour must have helped. He has attended the last several reunions. Speaking of reunions, is there enough interest to begin planning for the... (more)

John, I remember Kit Woolsey's name but can't picture him. He was a few years younger than us, I believe(and you were a year or two older than I, as I recall). Your e mail triggered an interesting thought: I wonder how many Kewaneeans have authored books, and on what topics. I would guess a... (more)

Does anyone remember Kit Woolsey? He was written up in the Miami paper today, Mar 18, in the bridge column. He is a bridge champion and has written books on bridge and backgammon. His hand from a championship in California last weekend was written up. THere can't be two Kit Woolsey's in the... (more)

Andy.

You spelled "Tretchie" wrong. Have some respect.

Also, Karen Samuels (several posts down) thinks you're a creep. She told me.

I took your side. I said you can't help the way you are.

Karen Samuels (several posts down) is an extrordinary woman. Obvious reasons.

When my mother had a fatal heart attach late at night while staying at Abe & Tretchee Samuels' home, Stan Zeeman rushed over to try to help her. Despite the fact that we lost her, it was reassuring to know that she was in the care of someone so capable, and therefore knew that nothing could have... (more)

Stanley Zeeman - an honor placque KK'er from the 30's - passed away last week in Sarasota.

His obituary is in the NYTimes.

He was a hero in Allentown - started our world-famous cardiac unit.

Plus, he was a great, great guy to boot (and, a star at KK).

Yes, "Karen Samuels" (several posts down) is my wife.

I know you all thought I wasn't "like that" and would never marry a female.

I guess you were wrong, weren't you.

Steve Buch's video is fantastic and unlocks some special memories.

Bob Sprafkin asked about the next reunion. I think it's time to plan for another.

What do you think? Is there sufficient interest?

Dave

I agree, Bob. The train ride from Philadelphia was endless - at least 8 hours in my memory.

Thanks, Steve. Some of the names and faces are coming back to me. The pictures of the parents are wonderful as well. By the way, I drive past Avoca airport every time I make the trip from Syracuse to Philly. At some point during my KK years I switched from train to air. A very big deal at the time.

Thanks, Steve. I'll watch it again and try to match names and faces. What's 60+ years, anyway!

I sure was...with Tommy Wilner and Billy Rackoff...both from Pittsburgh. Billy is married to one of my sister's friends from Camp Fernwood in Maine. My sister is also still in touch with Annie Joseph from Fernwood who is Sandy Jo's sister. Small world.
