Driving through Kewanee area on the way to and from Ithaca this past weekend sure brought back some memories. The only two recognizable landmarks were the Avoca airport and the big bridge at the end of the turnpike. But those names at the exits....Fleetville, Factoryville, Nicholson. Wow! I wish... (more)

I am leaving Indianapolis in June to move to Canton, OH to become the rabbi at Temple Israel of Canton. (I guess that also makes me the chief rabbi of the pro football hall of fame and will take responsibility for all the Jewish inductees into the hall. Don't know if I have the time to do that... Jim, you can reach kamp (I made it there ten years ago - quite an experience!) by taking La Plume Road east off of US 6/US 11, north of Scranton, then taking a left on Stanton Rd. Pass Davison Rd. on your right and the next driveway on the right (just after the left bend) will be kk. They're all... (more)

Jim the only thing that I could remember would be how to get out of the Kamp. There are not too many kampers who know that I ran away the first day that I was there in 1955. Got all the way to the airport, where after talking to my Dad, Roy David and someone else came to get me and take me back. I... (more)

Thanks for including me in the mailing of the Kamp directory.
It was a lot of fun going thru it, trying to remember the people I knew, and the people who I just had heard stories about.

The directory is super & we all owe WFIL lotsa thanks. (I've been quietly whistling some old Dick Griswold ditties the last few days) I even found, via the geographical set-up, that a guy at my tennis club was a kamper (albeit after my time as a kounselor). Amazing! KKW.

WFIL, you outdid yourself with this directory, it is terrific. The pictures of Puggy, Harry's Tonsorial Parlor, and the immaculate tents prior to inspection were a real jolt of nostalgia. Looking up old friends. What's not to like? The only thing I couldn't find was Khief Kewanee (or was it King... (more)
