So sorry to hear about Frank's passing. I remember him as a supportive kounselor, and also as my Sunday school teacher for at least one year at KI in Phila. My condolences to the family.

Update on Rabbi Frank Sundheim--very sad.

This message was sent out on May 13 by Temple Beth Shalom, his former congregation in Winterhaven, FL:

" This is very sad news. It appears official that Rabbi Sundheim will not recover from this stroke. He is totally non-responsive. It is thought that he is not suffering. The family is making hospice arrangements.

" Adrianne thanks everyone very much for the notes and emails and cards.

" May we continue to send Adrianne our thoughts of love and encouragement. May we continue to pray for Rabbi as his beautiful life comes to a close. May the One who blessed us with Rabbi and Adrianne bless them both. May God empower her to walk through the pain she is feeling now. May God grant the whole family strength and courage, and may they feel Shechinah wrapped around them like an embrace. "

Frank Sundheim update:
" This afternoon saw a big change.... He is now breathing on his own (with a little help from oxygen.) Amazingly he can speak but not clearly or coherently yet. He has been able to answer a few simple questions. We are not sure about his vision yet. His left side has been clearly affected but hopefully, with time and rehab, at least some of that will return. Although there remain miles ahead to be traversed, we are so grateful for today's advances and hopeful that the succeeding days will continue to bring progress.

" Thank you for your continuing prayers and positive wishes. Jon is still here (thankfully) and Shelly (his wife) arrives tomorrow as does our daughter Sara.

Just read some disturbing news on my rabbinic listserve. Rabbi Frank Sundheim suffered a major stroke on May 1. Don't have any idea of his current status. Will let you know when I hear more.
