Re. litigiousness: wife Karen says that in 2013 ferrying kampers in the fabled Kamp Kars (e.g., ancient Brit saloons, decrepit Chrysler Town & Country) and Fritz Rudat's truck would be disallowed. Also, she says, lots of guys of all ages hanging around naked would be a goldmine for lawyers.

I'm certainly up for a reunion in '15 - KeeKeeWah for the organizing committee.

Hardly know where to begin on the changes that would have to be made if Kewanee was still functioning - for openers tuition would have to be off the chart to cover the cost of liability insurance. Fireworks on the 4th? - forget it. Polluting the lake with keys for Neptune involving dozens of rolls of toilet paper? - forget it. "Tapping" backsides to let campers know if they're Red or Black? - forget it. Kanteen would offer fresh fruit and granola bars. Think of the activities that would have to be added: computer games, modern dance, poetry slams, pre-calculus. Weren't we lucky to be there when we were?! Isn't i growing old and grumpy a hoot?!

Today, one couldn't pump water from the lake that was ok for brushing teeth but not drinking; things would be much changed in the kitchen where the twin workers counted meat balls onto the serving platter then licked their fingers after each count, bet we would all have to use gloves too; we would be allowed to be tipped too and still not be embarrassed; take to the lake let alone the Susquehanna with out life vests - not a chance in hell; I had to get weekly shots, sometimes from a dull needle that bent in half, now it would be a nice sharp disposable one.

Hey Donn, I understand that it was created (founded, built, and kampers and kounselors recruited) in 1915 and opened in the summer of 1916. But then again, I wasn't there at the time...
